Way to Go!
Above: Mrs. Becky Strohmeier, Ambria Strohmeier and Mrs. Rina Burke pause to give God the glory for their safe trip to Holland, MI, before embarking on a very busy week of competition and worship. Right: Ambria walks the platform to receive her award for her Watercolor entry.
In her first participation at the International Student Convention in early June, Grace Academy student Ambria Strohmeier represented our school well.
She placed 11th out of 47 entries in the Watercolor and landed top 20 in the Acrylic Exhibit Division, and also entered in Scrapbooking.
For Athletics, Ambria competed in the 400 Meter Dash and in Soccer Kick.
School Accolades
Certificate of Appreciation
During this past year, our students earned a quarter for each 100% they made on a test. They then dropped the quarter in our BLESS jar to help raise funds to sponsor a BLESS center. Students helped to establish a BLESS center in the Philippines by earning 388 100% on tests – that is $97 raised – good job!
Grace Christian Academy once again was honored as one of the few schools worldwide to receive a beautiful BLESS Certificate of Appreciation. Students at GCA sponsored one BLESS center. As a result, ten children will get the opportunity to go to school and learn because of efforts on your tests.
Basic Literacy Education
The BLESS – Basic Literacy Education Saving Souls – program is an outreach ministry of A.C.E. that is dramatically influencing and changing children’s lives in the Philippines, India, and Africa. BLESS helps impoverished children with what would otherwise be unavailable to them due to the extreme poverty in which they live: reading, basic math skills, and social studies.
Saving Souls
At the end of this 20-week program, students are able to read and write letters of the alphabet in order to read God’s Word. They have learned to take basic responsibility for their own learning, and most importantly, they have been introduced to the love of Jesus Christ.
