ON A POSTIVE PLANE

Each day during the school year, students have the opportunity to earn merits for accomplishing certain tasks. They also may earn demerits when they are not doing what they are supposed to do.

The obvious goal is to earn more positives than negatives.

This year 8,571 Merit Certificates were issued. That is a lot of writing, BUT it speaks of the students’ eagerness to work towards earning a plane ride. Yes, that is right. A private plane ride. The race was CLOSE and nerve-wrecking. From the first day of school, students understood how important each merit opportunity would be. Mrs. Burk kept meticulous records for every merit issued or revoked. Merits were counted, double counted and triple counted to make sure everything had been accounted for. The final reports revealed only a 7-merit difference between the winner and 2nd place.

Our Pilot

Mr. Danny Hoppers donated the plane ride to the winner.

Ground Support

While only one went up in the air, the entire school celebrated Ambria’s achievement and enjoyed the day together.
